September Board Update

| | Comments (0)

If you would like to park up to 2 bicycles in the garage, you can now do so! Please use the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the lobby or you can email your request to Make sure you include your name, apartment number, phone number and whether or not you already have a parking spot. If you already have a car parking spot, we will provide your spot with a bicycle rack. If you do not, you can rent a bicycle rack for $120 per year. Each rack holds two bikes. We are thrilled to finally add bicycle parking to the amenity list of our building!

An inspector has given a thorough look through our building's heating system, and has made a series of recommendations for maintaining, cleaning, repairing, and upgrading our steam heat components. The board will be developing a plan for short-term, mid-term, and long term repairs and replacement of equipment based on the inspector's recommendations. This is all with the intent of re-balancing the heat going to individual apartments, increasing the efficiency of our system, reducing breakdowns, saving money on oil, and increasing the expected lifespan of our existing equipment. Because it is almost winter, any major repairs will not take place until after April 2009. We are expecting the performance of our heat system this winter to be similar to recent winters, but we hope that some major improvements will be in place by winter 2010. Thank you for your patience as we tackle this major building project.

BUILDING E-MAIL LIST (Your Action Needed!)

We are compiling a list of e-mail addresses of the residents of our building. We will use this e-mail list to send monthly reminders to check updates to our building's new web site, send urgent notices from the board, and to use during any unforeseen building emergencies when quick communication becomes vital. If you don't already receive monthly updates, please e-mail to have your e-mail address added to the building's email database.
