Sept. Board Updates: Fire Escape, Laundry and more

Delays with Fire Escape Scraping/Painting Project
You may have noticed that the fire escape project abruptly stopped soon after it started. Unfortuantely, we had to fire the contractors, which is why the work is on hold. We will make further announcements to let people know when our new contractors are about to begin work. We apologize for the delay, but we want to make sure the job is done correctly.

Laundry Guidance
There is a new sign in the laundry room that suggests a regular dryer load should take 35 minutes. It also says notifies residents that they should remove their laundry from a machine within 10 minutes of the end of a cycle, or else another resident may remove the laundry to a folding table. This 10-minute rule signage was an idea brought up at last year's shareholder meeting by one of our residents.

We installed an automatic motion sensor for the light in the laundry room which should save us some money on our electric bill.

Boiler Replacement
The boiler project is progressing, as the boiler engineer has submitted his specific plans to us and the board is reviewing it.

Parking Waiting List
A parking spot is becoming available and will be assigned to the person in the top slot of the waiting list. Everyone else on the waiting will therefore be moved one slot closer to getting a spot. Fire Escape Scraping/Painting on Hold

Until Further Notice, the fire escape scraping and painting project is suspended while we await further information from our Property Manager. Leon has been personally overseeing the contractors doing the scraping of our fire escapes, and has raised a few issues with the contractor on our behalf. Until these procedural issues are resolved, work is temporarily suspended. Please keep your eye on this web site for further updates, as work could begin again at any time. Thank you for your patience as we work to ensure that this project is executed properly.
