Committee Charters

If you are interested in joining one of the below committees or suggesting an additional committee, please e-mail the board at board@616east18.com

The board of the building has the power to charter committees to help with the operations, upkeep, maintenance, and overall well-being of the building.

These committees provide an excellent opportunity for residents to learn how to participate in the governing and operations of the building, and how to interface on a more frequent basis with the board than the average shareholder. It provides the building with a pool of people with experience in participation to fill future open positions on the board.

Committees also allow for meetings among residents to go into more detail about a specific facet of the building than could be accommodated by the regular monthly board meeting schedule.

The chairperson of the committee will be selected by the committee members. Their appointments will be annual and follow the board election calendar. The chairperson is a member of the committee with the additional responsibilities of reporting to the board on a monthly basis, and of organizing their committee's meetings and efforts.

Committees do not have the power to override the board on any decisions or actions. They exist to facilitate progress on a specific topic or in a specific area of the building in tandem with and with the approval of the board.
